da leao: A team of superstars managed by a former Galactico – you’ve got to wonder just how Real Madrid do it.
da dobrowin: But for every tale of success there is a tale of struggle and for some of the Real Madrid youngsters it’s always going to be difficult to break into a side rammed full of superstars.
We’ve seen a few break in over the past couple of years- with the likes of Lucas Vazquez the most recent example of success stemming from the youth side going into the first-team.
But with Zinedine Zidane now at the helm, we’re not quite sure how many youngsters are going to get a chance at the top level in the coming years.
But there is little doubt there are players in Madrid’s roster that are destined to be stars but with a little game time could be closer than we think. And a move to the England may quicken their progression extremely quickly if the move goes well for both parties.
With that in mind, here’s FIVE Real Madrid youngsters that could make loan moves to England this summer…
Martin Odegaard
There are very few who don’t know about Martin Odegaard, the Norweigen youngster who became perhaps the most famous teenager overnight back in 2015.
Signed from Stromsgodset, he was thought to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo but things haven’t accelerated at quite the speed he would have hoped.
But all is not lost. At just 17-years-old he’s got plenty of time to improve and you do wonder if a move to England might quicken his development.
It’s gritty and fast-paced whatever level you play at and it would surely help Odegaard, who has the world at his feet.
Diego Llorente
At 22-years-old, Llorente will be expected to be break into the Real Madrid first-team at some point in the next couple of years, if he is good enough.
He spent the entirety of last season on-loan at Rayo Vallecano gaining vital first-team experience but now he needs to step up once again.
Perhaps a move to a side like Watford might suit him best- a competent and established Premier League outfit who will be looking for defensive stability.
Alvaro Medran
Another youngster, Alvaro Medran is a 22-year-old midfielder who spent part of last season on loan with Getafe in La Liga.
He’s an attacking midfielder, capable of linking up with the striker and he impressed during his loan stint, only helping his chances of first-team football later down the line.
What Medran needs now is another competitive season at another competent club- cue a move to England.
The English game would settle him down and prepare him for years to come at Madrid, if he can make the grade.
Burgui
A talented winger capable of dazzling skill and dynamic runs, Burgui is held in high esteem by Madrid bosses. Like many of his fellow youngsters, Burgui spent time on-loan at Espanol last season and is expected to go out again this year to gain more first-team action.
He’s extremely quick and he’d no doubt add another dimension to most English sides but it will be up to Madrid as to what level he could play at.
Jesus Vallejo
Vallejo is a centre-back whom much is expected of in the future. He signed a £6million six-year-deal with Madrid back in 2015, signalling their intent to develop him into the next Sergio Ramos going forward.
Again, he spent time at Zaragoza last season and will most likely go out on-loan again this year. He’d fit most Championship outfits and Madrid will be looking for him to gain more appearances as he attempts to break into the first-team going forward.
There are very high hopes for this young man indeed.
