Aaron Cresswell should be back in contention for the visit of Sheffield United and it should come as a lift to the squad.
What’s the latest?
The left-back has been in fine form for the Hammers this season and his performances have been recognised by the club through a new contract extension that he signed earlier this month to keep him at the club until 2023.
His absence has led Manuel Pellegrini to operate with Arthur Masuaku for much of the season and the lack of continuity in the team could be contributing to their downturn in results, with no wins in their last four matches.

Against Everton Cresswell’s lack of involvement was more noticeable, with the opening goal coming down the left-flank as a result of some lackadaisical marking from Masuaku.
However, he should be back for the clash against the Blades as Pellegrini assured fans his injury was not a long-term issue, so it is likely he was kept out of the Goodison Park fixture in order to prevent risking further injury to a knock he picked up against Crystal Palace.
Big presence
The 29-year-old needed to return to his best form after Masuaku had made the left-back spot his own in the first few games of the season, but he has done exactly that.
He has been key for his side both defensively and in attack, backing up a fine free-kick against Manchester United with a goal away at Bournemouth, both of which were crucial to the Hammers picking up points.
However, he may have to do that if he is to convince both Pellegrini and West Ham fans that he can be a reliable option long-term, with many supporters opposing his contract renewal.
Their lack of faith is a little harsh, though, as there are positives to his game, and it has been claimed by Matt Upson that he is less error-prone than Masuaku, which could prove important against a Sheffield United side that are well-organised and in-form, having beaten Arsenal on Monday.
The former Ipswich man is also a senior figure at the club and his experience and leadership could be important in a team where that is lacking, and an area of weakness that was highlighted after they fell behind against the Toffees.
