Leeds fans have slammed Bailey Peacock-Farrell following an interview with Yorkshire Evening Post over his departure from Elland Road this summer.
The newspaper first cited comments made in June from the goalkeeper where he said:
“If I stay at Leeds I’ll be staying at Leeds to play. The two scenarios would probably be I’m staying at Leeds and I’m playing or I’ll have to be elsewhere I think.”
But he then admitted the following during the international break: “I don’t think you could call it difficult [to leave] when a Premier League team comes calling. It’s really hard for you to turn it down. It’s an opportunity for me to grow.”
However, since joining Burnley this summer he’s yet to feature which has enabled Leeds supporters to take a dig at him.
Reacting to the interview on Twitter one fan claimed they never rated him whilst others laid into the ‘keeper by saying he moved for the money.
The 22-year-old was branded a hypocrite as one supporter suggested he spoke nonsense.
Peacock-Farrell appeared 28 times for Leeds in the Championship last term but was dislodged by Kiko Casilla when he arrived in January.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
