da fazobetai: Sheffield Wednesday’s summer transfer window wasn’t brilliant, was it?
da roleta: Massimo Luongo hasn’t been anywhere near as good as expected, and Kadeem Harris has contributed to just six goals in 33 games from the wing.
However, it’s not all been bad. Julian Borner has been solid at centre-back, averaging the fourth-best WhoScored rating of any Wednesday player, but one summer arrival has been a bit of an enigma.
Of course, we’re talking about Jacob Murphy.
The winger arrived on loan from Newcastle United in the summer, and he’s blown hot and cold since joining the Yorkshire club.

One week he looks brilliant – for example against Leeds where he bagged a goal on his way to winning WhoScored’s star man award – but in other games he looks poor, drawing a lot of frustration from the fanbase.
A look at his stats shows that he’s been far too inconsistent this term.
Five goals is enough to make him the Owls’ second-highest goalscorer this term, but as a winger, you’d want him to have more than one assist to his name – although that’s hardly surprising when he’s averaging 0.9 key passes per game.
He shoots a lot, which is a positive for a wide player as it shows a natural directness, but he isn’t consistent enough in front of goals, often going long spells without finding the net – he’d scored just one in 19 at one point this season.
Murphy will return to Newcastle at the end of the season, but he’s seemingly surplus to requirements at St James’ Park, not playing for the Tyneside club since late 2018.
Wednesday don’t have an option to purchase him, but if they really wanted to pursue him it’s hard to imagine that it would be difficult to convince Newcastle to let him go.
The question is, should they? On his day he looks great, but those days are few and far between at the moment.
It’s certainly something Garry Monk has to ponder during the final few months of the season.
In other news, Sheffield Wednesday fans should be excited by this youngster who describes himself as similar to Romelu Lukaku.
