The winger even scored against his former employers in the Champions League, and has been linked with a return to North London, but Gold has claimed that a move is far from happening.
Speaking on the Gold and Guest Podcast, Gold stated that Edwards is simply not suited to Antonio Conte’s style, and hinted that a move is unlikely.
“We saw Marcus Edwards stuff coming out in the last couple of days, which from what we understand, at this point of time, is a little bit wide of the mark,” he stated.
“He’s just not a Conte player in my mind whatsoever.”

With nine goals and nine assists this season, the 24-year-old is in fine attacking form, and could hit the ground running quickly if he is to return to his hometown.
However, given that Edwards is currently thriving as a first-team regular in Lisbon, it seems unlikely that he would want to move to a team where he would have a lot of competition for game-time, and in Conte’s current system, which sees three attacking players line up ahead of a defensive five and midfield two, there may be no space for him.
Gold may be correct that Edwards is not a Conte player, with creative attackers such as Bryan Gil struggling for minutes under the Italian, and a move looks highly unlikely to happen.
